Swop Soc proudly presents Frills & Thrills: A Pop-Up Circular Fashion Swop

SWOP (Sustainable Wardrobe Options & Practices) Society is excited to announce its first SWOP of the year, taking place Saturday, 10th January 2026. This pop-up clothing exchange will bring together brands, stylists, and the community committed to promoting a more sustainable future for fashion. Participants simply bring in pre-loved items that deserve a new home and exchange them for something fresh and exciting.

TIME SLOTS & FLOW
To maintain a smooth check-in process, swoppers select a preferred arrival time. Participants are encouraged to stay as long as they like, browse the racks, pop out to enjoy the Carnival rides and games, and return later to see new items arriving.

Swop closes at 5:30pm.

*Please note; if you are running late or unable to make your pre-selected time slot, not to worry - join us when you can! You ticket will be valid all day. We have this in place to ensure a smooth flow in. Your ticket includes access to also enjoy AIA Carnival, so we do encourage you to come as early and make a day of it!

“How To Swop” Guide

Swopping is an easy an enjoyable process - our 8 simple steps ensure our members maximise each experience and successfully rotate their wardrobes with value for value.

1. SELECT: Select up to 10 items to trade in - ALL Sizes, Shapes, Styles, Colours and Brands of textiles are encouraged.

2. CHECK: Check each item for defects. Items must meet our Exchange Eligibility standards to be accepted for traded in – to ensure you maximise your swopping experience, please only bring along clothes that are in good condition and meet the standard.

3. TRADE IN: Come along to our pop-up swop event and trade in your items for swop credits. We will cross check your items upon arrival and add your credits to your swop wallet.

4. SWOP WALLET: Swop Credits = Currency. We will value your items with our simple tier system; Pre-loved, Upscale, New with tags and Luxury – more details below! For each eligible item, you will be given the number of credits that item is categorised in and these will be added to your Swop Wallet.

5. SWOP & SHOP: Enjoy your spree - our racks will be filled with other members upcycled clothing. Clothing is tagged with the credit value so you can keep track with how many credits you have to spend!

6. TRY: We highly encourage you try on all the clothing before checking out, to ensure this is a great fit and you feel fabulous! We want to ensure all items go to a home where they will be worn and enjoyed.

7. CHECK OUT: Once you’ve prosed the rack and tried on, check out your clothing in exchange for the number of credits you have. Any left-over credits will be added to your profile for you to use at a future swop!

8. REPLENISH: Wear, enjoy and love your new (to you) clothes - Tag us in your swop finds @swopsociety and see you at the next event!!

Swop Tiers

Casual Pre-Loved – 1 Credit

• Pre-loved clothing still in great condition (please refer to our exchange eligibility guide). Items that do not meet these criteria cannot be accepted into the SWOP.

• Casual wear: jeans, tops, dresses, leisure wear, workwear, high-street fashion – everyday wear.

Upscale Pre-Loved – 2 Credits

• Items of elevated style or for special occasions.

• Evening dresses, suits, luxurious, sustainable, or high-quality fabrics, intricate details.

• Includes local brands, luxury brands, and slow-fashion labels.

Casual New w/ Tags – 2 Credits

• Brand new items with tags that haven’t been worn.

• Casual items: fast fashion brands, t-shirts, jeans, basics, and leisurewear.

Upscale New w/ Tags – 3 Credits

• Brand new items with tags that are smart, business, or upscale clothing.

• Dresses, suits, quality fabrics, intricate details.

• Includes slow-fashion, luxury, and local brands.

Exchange Eligibility

We strongly encourage fair trading at our pop up events, with Swoppers exchanging clothing that’s in great condition, are good quality textiles and freshly cleaned ~ ready to be worn in it’s new home!

What Items Are Eligible?

- All Sizes, Shapes, Styles, Colours and Brands of textiles are encouraged.

- Casual wear, business wear, evening wear, holiday wear – all seasons, all occasions!

- Dresses, Tops, Shirts, Jackets, Jumpers, Skirts, Shorts, Jeans, Trousers, Suits… all styles!

- Shoes, Accessories, Hats and Bags are invited to join!

- All gendered clothing is welcome.

*We cannot accept Underwear, Socks, Sports Team Jerseys, Clothing with slang.

**Swimwear and Athletic wear will only be accepted if brand new with tags on.

Check for;

- Odours and strong smells

- Holes, rips & tears

- Missing buttons / broken zips

- Faded colours

- Balling & Pilling

- Stains, Scuffs and Marks

***Items with defects will not be accepted. Only eligible items can be swopped ~ check your clothes ahead of time to make the most of your swopping experience.
